I’ve created the following rules, points and achievements for the sole purpose of giving us all little measurements of progress to share over the course of a month.
Duration#
- Sunday 1 Feb 2026 - Sunday 1 Mar 2026 (4 weeks)
- You can work at your own pace — no daily requirements
What Counts as a Project?#
Anything game-adjacent counts:
- Games, toys, experiments, interactive tools
- Any engine, framework, language, or even paper prototypes
- Solo or collaborative (just be clear what you worked on)
Achievements & Points#
- There are 30 achievements available during the month
- Each achievement can be earned once
- Achievements are intentionally small and achievable
- Most should take ~1–2 hours or less
To earn an achievement:
- Do the thing
- Share some evidence in Discord
(screenshot, clip, build, explanation, or short write-up) - Claim the achievement
I will try and keep tabs and post a weekly progress summary.
Point Values#
- 5 pts – Very small progress (≈30–60 min)
- 10 pts – Solid focused work
- 15 pts – Meaningful milestone or iteration
- 20 pts – Harder, integrative, or “shareable” progress
Points are for fun, bragging rights, and momentum only.
Weekly Mini-Twists#
Each week, the I will announce one optional mini-twist.
Mini-twists are:
- Light constraints, incentives, or creative lenses
- Optional, never mandatory
- Designed to encourage focus, experimentation, or sharing
Participating in a weekly twist will usually:
- Award bonus points, or
- Unlock a special one-off achievement
Details will be revealed at the start of each week to keep things fresh.
Sharing Guidelines#
Sharing is the heart of the challenge Good shares include:
- Screenshots or short clips
- “Before / After” comparisons
- A few sentences about what changed or what you learned
- Code snippets or system explanations
WIP is encouraged. Rough is good. Broken is fine.
Finishing & Reflection#
You do not need a “perfect” or “complete” game. A playable build, a toy, or a clear ending is a win.
At the end of the 30 days:
- Share what you made
- Reflect on what worked and what didn’t
- Celebrate finishing something
